California has 15 of the 25 priciest places to live in the US

Introduction: California's Costliest Places to Live

California is home to 15 of the highest, costliest, most expensive places in the United States. It says right here that this article is on the internet, so it must be true. Let's take a quick look at this. The idea behind this is that it looks at housing costs as well as energy costs, utility costs, and everything else.

This little picture is very telling when you look at everything about it. It's pretty interactive. San Jose is the sixth most costliest place to live of the 26 metros. In California expense is 12. 9 above the norm in the United States and ranked 7th cost list is 384 metros across the United States.

San Francisco is the number 1 costliest place to live. It's the number one most expensive place in California and the number one most expensive place across the United States this article is written by John Lancer, and he used a spreadsheet to go through his annual price parity report Bureau of Economic Analysis. It's a nice website to look at Another stark reminder of the state's biggest economic challenge, the cost of living here. Everything's expensive labor, milk, gas, you name it.

Here's another rundown. Ventura County costs 13 percent more than typical U. S. As well as Santa Barbara, Salinand, and San Jose. So it doesn't just take into the housing costs. it takes account of utilities, et cetera.

Comparing California to Other States

California, obviously it's a great place to live. It's got great weather except for the last couple of weeks. It's been hot and cold. It's just been really weird. Where else are you going to live? Do you want to live in St. Louis? You want to live in Missouri? You want to live in. Ohio where it's freezing cold or Florida where you have massive hurricanes.

Yeah, we get earthquakes, but those aren't that bad. We haven't had a bad one lately, so come and move here.

Cupertino Home of the Week

Featured Homes in Cupertino and Willow Glen

We'll be talking about Cupertino, Willow Glen and some luxury homes too This, Episode is brought to you by the home inspection checklist. If you haven't downloaded it yet, it lets you walk through every bit of your house from landscape to the attic, to HVAC, to your kitchen, to windows, et cetera. It allows you to look at every little aspect of your house before you put it on the market. But it's also a great document to use to get your honey-do list in order.

FREE HOME BUYER CHECKLIST HERE https://abitanogroup.com/Homebuyerchecklist

Download it today. Easy checklist. Cupertino house of the weeis k, Grenada Ave, The my listing. the reason why I picked this is because I'm actually going to Grenada in May. I'm flying into Martinique, which is above that.

That chain, like six or northeast up, north east of it. And then I'm sailing down, but this one right here is a one bedroom, one bath, 2, 100 square foot home. That's also used as a dental office, it also has an offiRightwn below. right now it's being used as a dental office. So it's a cool 4 million and it's been on the market for 96 days.

I'm wondering where it is. It's just south of Stevens Creek Boulevard. This is the Mona Vista area Schoolista High School is right here somewhere. Mona Vista is right here. And Kennedy's right here. Aarele and DeAnza are right here. So if you want to be close to Cupertino in Cupertino by Apple, there you go. If you haven't looked at this house yet, this is what it looks like.

Willow Glen Home of the Week

I don't know why they say it's only one bedroom. I have to tell him about it next time. I see himGlenn's tHouseWill GleWeekoblowof the week blew? It Avenue again. I mentioned this a few months ago, six bedrooms, six and a half baths, 4, 500 square feet. Again, not my listing. It was built in 2024 and it's been staying there for 55 days.

The reason why I picked it is because it's close to downtown Willow Glen, which is Lincoln Ave. You can walk there for 4. 5 million dollars. And it's all brand spanking new, very beautiful house. You can buy something g like this in Austin area for about a million, a million and a half, just so you know, just to compare it.

Luxury Home of the weekk

Luxury Homes Spotlight

And luxury house of the week, my Comber drive, not my listing, seven bedrooms, eight and two half baths, 7, 500 square feet, built in 2023. And it's on 3. 16 acres in the 17-mile drive of Carmel Pebble Beach area. So if you have a cool 30 million, let's go take a look at it. It's been on the market for 68 days and this is a gorgeous house.

This is how houses should be built. That type of roof, the metal Roof

I'd be walking on that beach every day. All right.

Bay Area County Sales Report

This is the 12 bay area county sales report San Benito has had no sales. It's had eight new listings so it really can't report anything Santa Clara tops with a 2.5 million sale versus San Mateo, which is normally around 2. 5. So everything's inverted today, but that's okay. Everything will change. 2. 5 is the average for what's closed so far this year, which is six days.

We've had 28 in contract. Contra Costa has 40 in contract. Contra Costa is just clicking along. Because it's affordable, it's above the always and it's Always been a great place to move. Same thing with Napa. Napa is a great buy. If you're looking at buying something in the Bay area, Napa is a place to go.

Nice houses, a very beautiful valley, everything you needed. 63 days on market though. And Marin is sho118, which doesn't mean anything. So there you go.

I don't know why this is at 1. 141 million so far we've closed. How many houses have we closed? 57. So that might be right, but yeah, we're leaps and bounds above anybody else. Like Marin is 11 million. They've had seven houses sell so far this year. Let's see how the rest of this year goes. Oh, and by the way, this. Snapshot right here. I wanted to point out that San Luis Obispo has a list of price ratios of 144% year-to-date for 2024. 2024 January to December, Santa Clara came in at an average of 106, almost 107. Alameda is 107 and San Francisco was consistently at 111 percent over the list price.

It seems like something's wrong there in San Francisco or people are just back in San Francisco. Sonoma is 100 percent and that's it. Contra Costa is 102. Contra Costa and Marin are pretty close. So pop in a little places to go.

Welcome back. Hope you're back to work and enjoying your work. It's going to be a long year, but it's already busy. Just last night I got another listiThingsointment. Things are going crazy right now. I think people are starting to realize this is the time to move time to start thand e conversation, start to get things moving.

And let's start talking about it. I have six, seven listings that I'm massaging right now. I have two active, just closed one last week. So things are starting to chunk along. If you're interested in learning more, let me know,, hit me with a DM or give me a call or text me. I'm happy to talk to you.
